|Over the years there has been a number of books published forestry and logging equipment. However, their main emphasis has always revolved around the equipment employed to fell, strip and haul the logs to the truck loading sites and not on the trucks that take them on to the lumber yards and timber processing plants. Holz-Transports really breaks that mold as it is packed with colour images of recent and current vehicles employed in the European forestry industry to haul timber out of the forests to the yards. (plus a few historic b/w to set the scene). Marques include MAN, Mercedes, Steyr, Scania, Volvo, Saurer, Unimog, DAF, Renault, Iveco. The book presents the very manyworking images by vehicle configuration & specification preceded by a chapter of historic images on how timber haulage has evolved. Whilst the text is in German it does not detract from what is a very highly illustrated and welcome book on the vehicle type. German Text. 140 pages, approx 400 colour & b/w images. hardback.
